About Coach

My name is Gilbert Camacho and Founder of 3CS Athletics. I Grew up in Inglewood, CA. Throughout my childhood, my Dad ingrained in us the ethics of hard work. He was also my Coach for all the sports that I played and he never took it easy on myself and my siblings. I believe it is everything he taught me and how I was raised that has turned me into the passionate Coach that I am today. It goes back from my chores having to be done every single day, to the 5:30 a.m. Weight Training that I had to attend while playing collegiate baseball. I grew up Playing Baseball, Soccer, and Football, I was fortunate to play college Baseball and Soccer as a Pitcher and Goalkeeper for Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky. During my time there, we won our school first first-ever Conference Championship in both sports. A winning attitude is all you need, so Let's Get It!

Turning Point

I wanted to go down this road to become a trainer back in 2012 because of my family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity. This was after spending over eight years of personal training working for one of the largest fitness clubs in Los Angeles. When I was in the ninth grade, my father had a kidney transplant due to high blood pressure. What I quickly discovered was that all of these health issues can easily be prevented with proper nutrition and a healthy active lifestyle. I decided I wanted to help prevent others from going through the same situations that some of my family members have experienced. Thus, 3CS Athletics was born.

Motivation & Passion

Training is by no means an easy task. Every client I take on, I ask myself; How will I help this person with their daily life? How is it going to help them move better, stand better, and just be better? I work with a lot of older clientele, so how is this going to help them, and how can this improve their longevity? It doesn't matter if it's my 10-year-old Baseball player working on sports performance or my 88-year-old client working on functional movements, I will make them better. I just want others to be better, to do better. “Anyone can train someone, and make them sore the next day, but the true art comes in knowing the body.”  After years of working in a commercial gym and putting in long 13-hour days, I needed more time for my family, especially after becoming a father in April 2020. Starting 3CS Athletics has allowed me to have more time and freedom for myself and my family.
